I just removed a bunch of folk who never post on LJ anymore. If you DO read LJ but never comment/post and feel I've been a tad hasty, then please let me know.

Tah! x

"After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead, with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child

And you learn to build all your roads on today, because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure, that you really are strong and that you really do have worth

And you learn and you learn, with every goodbye you learn..."

I've had a bit of a clear out of my friends' list.  These are a selection of the following reasons:

1) You don't update and so you might as well not be on my friends list
2) You never comment on my posts - either jovially or supportively... or even randomly (the best way)
3a) You bore me
3b) Your posts get in the way of the juicy posts my other friends make
4) I just don't like you (this one is pure sarcasm - I thought I'd point that out in case anyone takes massive offence)

I've still got you on farcebook, so don't cry.  I just don't want you reading my personal shit.  Or not reading as the case might be with some of you.

If you feel this is highly unfair or any other owt, leave a (screened) comment.  Or if you're new, do the same.

Just in case anyone's interested, I've managed to put 3 of the 9 belts I've got to sell up on ebay this evening.

Please pass this one to anyone who needs it.  (check the waist measurements also, as they're all different!)

I keep seeing stories of people on the news who have lost their homes due to the 'financial crisis' ("credit crunch", "recession"... whatever the fuck you want to call it!), and are shown in their new digs (oh a rented flat!  Oh a shed in their parents' garden!), who have great big fuck-off flat screen TVs and Wii consoles.

I keep forgetting to log the hilarious things that come out of calvin's mouth... but I just caught this one so here it goes...

"Don't you find it weird that all the water we're drinking now, has, at some point, been through a dinosaur?"

Just wanted to put a quick reminder up on here that Goth Cruise - The Movie is being shown tomorrow night at 9pm at the Phoenix Cinema in Leicester.

What is it about? "Goth Cruise is a feature length 'gothumentary' about the enduring allure of goth culture in the UK and USA"

Order your tickets online at the Phoenix Centre website

The director is from Nottingham, and so far, the Sheffield and Nottingham showings have been SOLD OUT. So come and show your support and have a chuckle as a bunch of goths scare and dazzle the beelzebubs out of 'normal' folk on a Cruise ship in the Caribbean!

Trailer under here )

I'll be there talking about Gothla UK (2009) too if anyone wants to come and chat 'gothic bellydance' with me!

Some of you will be aware that a few of my friends took part in the filming of "Goth Cruise: The Movie" last year... this includes, [ profile] bridiep , [ profile] serpentstar  and their awesome sprog, and also Paul and Chrissie who help with Gothla UK as well!

I was quite gutted that I didn't have the funds to go and see the premiere showing in London, however, I am chuffed to bits that they are going to be on the Pheonix Cinema screen here in Leicester in November!  The best bit is that Paul, Bridie and Chrissie are the people in the photo that's promoting it.   I got all "fan girly" and felt really proud of my mates.  (just for reference: Paul's leading, Chrissie's in the front half of Desiree the horse, and Bridie in the back... and also Desiree the horse went all the way to America to see the Sisters of Mercy once... with Jim Boz as the back half! Now that's a rock and roll animal!)

So if you're Leicester/East Midlands based and fancy coming along to see my mates, I'm going.... would be cool to see you there.
